The Kliko brand
Kliko is a well-known brand on the European waste disposal market. It stands for innovative product lines and new developments for the local and industrial disposal of waste.

The Kliko history
Today, Kliko is a brand of the Craemer Group. The word itself has its origin in the Netherlands. It derives from the initial letters of the names of two Dutch gentlemen, Klingenberg and Koster, who sold the first dust cart for the collection of domestic waste end of the 1950s and named it Kliko. When, in the 1970s, they started to sell waste disposal bins (mini containers) and also referred to them as Kliko, the name started to establish itself in the Dutch language as a generic term.

After reputable German waste management companies had taken over the Dutch Kliko activities, they launch the Kliko Entsorgungssysteme GmbH in 1989 as their German procurement company. At the same time they develop a subsidiary in the Netherlands, the Kliko Milieutechniek BV. Another subsidiary is founded in the United Kingdom, the Kliko Environmental Systems Ltd. In 1990 the German head quarters sets up its office on the premises of the Paul Craemer GmbH, its main supplier for waste disposal bins and partner in product development. Later, between 1998 and 2001, the Paul Craemer GmbH acquires all of the equities in the company Kliko. After the merger, the former company name Kliko is turned into a brand of the Caemer Group. The development in the UK accords to this: Craemer UK Ltd takes over the Kliko Environmental Systems Ltd in 2001 and Kliko then is a Craemer brand here, too. In the same year the Dutch Kliko Milieutechniek is sold to its Director of many years, Willem Jan Achterberg, whom Craemer grants exclusivity for the sales of waste bins of the Kliko brand in Benelux and the Netherland Antilles.
